Hand-cut paper sculpture from a vintage Geologic map
76 cm h x 62 cm w / 30″ h x 24.4″ w

This piece is meticulously hand-cut from a vintage Geologic map of the San Lucas Dam Quadrangle in McKinley County, New Mexico.

The artwork features a flock of birds encircling a central, intricate bloom of cut-paper foliage. The map’s distinctive palette gives the piece a luminous, sun-drenched quality. The title “Seeing Through It” playfully alludes to the negative space created by the cutting process, where the shadows cast on the wall become as integral to the composition as the paper itself.

Framing Options: This work is available for purchase unframed. Alternatively, professional framing is available in a white box frame fitted with low-reflective, UV-protective glass to ensure the artwork is perfectly displayed and preserved.
