This piece features a dynamic flock of birds meticulously cut from a vintage Geologic map of the Centre Quadrangle in South Central Kentucky.

By liberating the birds from the strict cartographic lines of the map, the artwork explores themes of nature transcending man-made borders. The flock is arranged to create delicate shadows that shift with the light, giving the sculpture a sense of three-dimensional movement and life.
