02 Mar Madrid

I lived in Madrid when I was in my 20’s. It was a great experience. Though tough at times. It was the first time I’d travelled abroad alone. I went there completely on my own without knowing anyone. Which was both exciting and very nerve wracking. It definitely tests you doing something like that, though at the same time it was a lot of fun. I taught English out there, which I have to say I didn’t enjoy at all. But it was a great adventure.
The BF and I travel there regularly as we can’t get enough of their sherry and anchovies. I do love the place.
Here are a few pic of our recent trip.
Sherry and Mojama (air dried Tuna) always our first port of call when we arrive.
A cape shop because everyone needs a cape….
spot the BF at the bar
Bull fighting posters
Vermut (vermouth) as the serve it in Madrid, it’s nothing like the horrible Cinzano stuff, it’s really delicious
Yummy fried aubergines
Our neighbourhood florist
Lovely shiny fish
More lovely fish
Your classic Spanish bar…
Graffiti with a shifty looking man. We realised shortly after this photo that there were a lot of prostitutes on the street, hence the shifty looking man!
Sums up Spain pretty much
We were having a coffee in this square and I was very taken with these trees.
Lovely spring flowers
a trip to Madrid with out a cerveza or 2 wouldn’t be right
The classic patas bravas.
