Singing the leaving of Liverpool

‘Singing the leaving of Liverpool’

My new piece ‘Singing the leaving of Liverpool’ was created for the exhibition Mersey Maritime at the Bluecoat Display Centre in Liverpool. The exhibition is to celebrate the 175th birthday of Cunard Line that was based in Liverpool.

For some reason I had this song by Elvis Costello in my head and it was the inspiration for the title.

He’s cut from a vintage map of Liverpool. I love the blue stripe going through the centre of the bird.

It’s 34 x 44 cm and framed in a lovely white painted box frame. It’s £800 and is available to buy through the Bluecoat Display Centre for the duration of the exhibition.
