06 Feb Surrendering to the chaos
Painting is allowing me to express myself in a way that my paper works don’t. It’s hard to explain but I realised that there was something that I needed to express that I wasn’t finding in my paper
It’s something about surrendering to the chaos. My paper sculptures were feeling too tight and constrictive and that just wasn’t working for me any more.
My paintings allow me to feel freer and access something in me that I need to get out. The pleasure I get from it is so immense. Even a couple of hours makes me feel so happy. There is so much pleasure in surrendering to the chaos. Seeing how the paint moves and flows and reacts to the surface.
You can see one of my latest paintings here.
I think we’re lost – acrylic ink, acrylic paint and collage on paper, 2017
