29 Jul Japanese influence in my work
I’ve always been fascinated by Japan and Japanese art. So much so that when I was a teenager I used to have a Japanese symbol that I signed my name with. I can’t remember what it is though.
I can’t quite work out how I never managed to visit Japan before last year. But now I’ve been I know I’ll be going regularly. I can’t imagine life without it. Yes I loved it that much.
Their art has always been a big influence on my work. I’ve lost count of how many books on Japanese art I have. Maybe that’ll be another post.
All my work is a little bit influenced by Japanese art but here are some that are more influence than most.
Here’s a selection of my work where the influence is most obvious.
