Tokyo National Museum

If you follow me on social media (and if not why not?) you’ll probably know I went to Japan recently. It was my second time there and I had such an amazing time. We saw and did so much and ate so much amazing food.

One of my favourite places we visited was the Tokyo National Museum. They have an amazing collection of Japanese art. It was so inspiring. I have always been inspired by Japanese art. It is one of my major influences in my work so being able to see so much was amazing. And they let you take photos! I obviously too hundreds.

If you are lucky enough to go to Tokyo then this is a must visit. I’m already counting the days until I can visit again. In the meantime I’ll have to make do with my photos and their website that has quite a lot of the collection on line here.

Here are a few of my highlights.

This was a drawing of part of a suit of armour, I love how you can see the changes they made. There was a whole room dedicate to similar drawings, these were my absolute favourites
